TREATMENT PLAN

China–US MDT board

The treatment plan matters more than the treatment itself. If the strategy is chosen wrongly, time is lost — and time is the one thing an oncology patient has little of. We bring together specialists from China and the US to review your case and propose an individual plan.

WHY IT MATTERS

Plan first, treatment second

A wrong strategy costs the most: it takes away the thing an oncology patient has least of — time. A well-thought-out plan is a “super navigator”: it keeps you from going the wrong way and from spending months on tries and U-turns.

A multidisciplinary team from China and the US

The case is reviewed together, not one specialty at a time

One specialist, one discipline

A single specialist’s opinion from one discipline

EXPERT TEAM

Experienced experts from two countries

More than 100 experts take part in the boards — titles and affiliations are listed on the experts page

Two countries, more than ten centers

Specialists from China and the US join the board on an ongoing basis and review cases on a shared schedule.

Doctors who treat patients themselves

Practicing specialists from the group take part in the review — the same people who then carry out the prescribed treatment.

The full roster is on its own page

Titles, organizations and areas of work of more than 100 experts from China and the US are collected on the experts page.

INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS

Review against international guidelines

International standards of care, built on evidence-based medicine

Evidence-based medicine

Decisions rest on evidence-based principles and standardized practice — that is what makes the plan more precise and more reliable.

Current US protocols

We use up-to-date American consensus statements and treatment standards: that lays the foundation for the planned treatment that follows.

One set of clinical guidelines

Experts from both countries review the case against the same international guidelines.

No language barrier

American specialists communicate freely in Chinese and English, so the international review loses nothing to translation.

HOW THE TEAM WORKS

Why this is not a one-off consultation

Five mechanisms that make sure the plan is not just “an opinion” but actually gets implemented

A standing team

MDT specialists take part on a permanent basis and on a fixed schedule — they are not invited in for a single case.

Rigorous quality control

The team has a dedicated case manager, the treating physician and a verifying physician: personal support at every stage.

Direct line to your doctor

The MDT team contacts the patient’s treating physician directly so the plan is carried out to standard. American specialists follow the treatment and adjust it when needed.

Green channel

If needed, the patient can be treated at the group’s oncology centers — and can also get green-channel access to China’s leading hospitals.

Support until the result

We do not leave the patient with a finished document: specialists follow the plan’s execution to the end, so the decision actually reaches treatment.

HOW THE REVIEW WORKS

What actually happens at the board

What takes place in a review — and what you walk away with

Every Tuesday, 9:00

The review runs on a fixed schedule. Nobody is gathered for a single case — the team is a standing one.

Nine specialties at one table

Radiation oncology, drug therapy, surgery, medical physics, imaging, pathology, rehabilitation, nutrition and nursing care.

What exactly is discussed

Target contouring, treatment regimen, field placement, dose distribution and dose limits for surrounding organs — based on the specific case.

What the patient gets in the end

A refined diagnosis and stage, a comprehensive treatment plan, the sequence and scope of interventions, and quality-control criteria.

REGULAR BOARDS

The specialties the board runs regularly

Nine standing directions, organized by discipline; whether a given condition fits the board is judged by physicians from the records — the list of treatable conditions is on the treatment page

Breast and gynecologyGI: stomach, intestine, liver, biliary tract, pancreasLungs: nodules, stage III and IVHead and neck tumorsUrology: prostate, kidneys, bladder, adrenal glandsSkin and soft tissueLymphoproliferative diseasesPain syndrome and palliative careLate-stage and rare tumors

ABOUT THE BOARD

Frequently asked questions

The seven things patients ask most often about the China–US MDT

What is MDT?

A multidisciplinary team: pathology, radiology, surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, nutritional support and rehabilitation. Specialists from both countries build an individual plan together — from refining the diagnosis to long-term follow-up.

How is this different from a regular consultation?

The case is reviewed by a multidisciplinary team from centers in China and the US against unified international guidelines — instead of the opinion of a single specialist from one field.

Are the doctors brought in just for my case?

No. MDT specialists take part on a permanent basis and on a fixed schedule — this is a standing team, not a one-time gathering.

How long until I hear back?

The initial assessment comes within 24 hours. Requests received before 12:00 are reviewed the same day where possible; those received after 12:00 — by noon the next day.

Is the initial assessment paid?

The initial assessment is free. The consultation itself is a paid service.

What do I get in the end?

An individual treatment plan and a written report. American specialists support the implementation of the plan and adjust it when necessary.

Can I come for treatment after the board?

Yes. If needed, the patient can be treated at the group’s oncology centers; we can also help arrange green-channel access to China’s leading hospitals.
